Jananam Charitable Trust, a non-profit, non-government organization, started by a small team of Electronics and Communication Engineers graduated from Arulmigu Kalasalingam College of Engineering, Srivilliputhur in the year of 2005-2009.

During our final year of Engineering,we had an opportunity to visit an orphanage(Heed Trust) located near Rajapalayam, Tamilnadu. We spent a day with the kids engaging them with several fun activities, providing lunch and dinner. We could see the poverty and thirst for education from their eyes.

Then we realized that,helping them for a day would be insufficient because they definitely needed a long term financial assistance.

An year after, all of us were employed and started earning for ourselves. Yet, the thought to help the orphanage was still running in our minds.

On September2010, we had a discussion on the same and came up with an idea to contribute money for the kids. We were 64 in number.

 The team decided to deposit some amount of money in a common bank account,every month. The collective sum at the end of the year turned up to be a huge amount. This would be used for the upliftment and welfare of the orphange.

Together we decided to contribute on our birthdays as well.

One of our friend by name'Vignesh R'was so interested about this idea and wanted to be a part of our team. He decided to contribute Rs.1000/month and more.

At that time, we had a question in our mind, "why don't we start a charitable trust and expand our help?"

    This led to the origin of "JANANAM CHARITABLE TRUST".
